“What a great achievement Reedo! 25 years in a market with tribal brand loyalty where the Reed name has only won more and more respect as time has gone by.
We’ve been selling Reed gear now since 2007, and importantly using it ourselves in our adventures that have spanned many thousands of miles along the Australian coast.
As the guy both selling it and wearing it, you have to have absolute trust that it’s going to work and be durable in the demanding salt water environment, and there is a reason that Reed is the common thread in our product range since day dot of Expedition Kayaks.
Being on the other side of the world, we’ve only once had the pleasure of Reedo’s company, and that was dinner at his dubious recommendation of a Turkish pizza joint in a no-go part of Nurnberg, with a bunch of other paddling people at the Paddle Expo. The pizzas were nearly as big as the rats that bustled across the floor and under the table picking at the scraps, but hell I’ve eaten at worse places! At least a couple of times… And they had beer, so it was a hell of a funny night.
If Reedo ever comes to Sydney we have a couple of places every bit as salubrious and we look forward to returning the hospitality.
Congratulations on this milestone, if there is one truism in life it’s that you don’t start up your own manufacturing business to get yourself more holidays, a bigger pay packet and less stress, but I’m sure there is a nice warm glow of accomplishment in the Reed factory right about now.
