Product Description

*** CALL TO ENQUIRE ABOUT OUR PADDLES***

2 piece Greenland Paddle Nanook2 BlackBone bases on the shape and size of a traditional west-greenland paddle. It has mild “shoulders” on transition from loom (shaft) to blades. Blade tips are round and as wide as the blade. Out standard material is western red cedar (Thuja plicata) – lightweight and beautiful wood, which generally does not rot. Pine strips on the loom is our “trade-mark” which adds stiffness to our paddles. As a finish, we oil the paddles with tungoil. Wooden paddle treated with oil feels very natural and warm in your hands. Good grip is guaranteed, even when the paddle is wet.

New Split System…

… is oval carbon reinforced plastic paddle joint for greenland paddles made by Kayak Sport. The ferrule is as short as possible to maintain more natural wooden paddle´s characteristics. Easy to use and maintain. Just push the button and you can split your paddle in 2 same size pieces (220cm paddle has 115cm pieces and 230cm has 120cm)

Using our greenland paddle is gentle to your muscles and joints and decreases fatique. It is silent and you put less effort in each stroke. Bracing and rolling are easier than you ever thought they could be.

Features & Technology

Produce Features

- Aquatherm® Material

- Sewn and taped seams

- Elasticated, adjustable and locking draw cord to tighten the waist tube around you to keep water out. (Adjustable Waist Decks Only)

- 6mm Heavy-Duty Elastic/s in the deck tube hold the deck on tight over the cockpit rim

- Front mounted grab-loop securely fitted for ease of use, reliability and confidence inspiring 'pull and pop' exits

Deck Options

Fixed Waist Decks

The Aquatherm fixed waist spray decks incorporates the waist tube as a straight up ready to go fit.

Sizes from Small to XXL (28''/72cm to 40''/102cm)

Minimal profile design waist tube to work in conjunction with Paddle Suit and/or Cag waist seals providing extra protection from water encroachment while paddling

Adjustable Waist Decks

The Aquatherm® adjustable waist tube decks allow a much larger range of fitting compared to the fixed waist, ideal if sharing a spray deck or to accommodate base-layers meaning you will only require the one deck for many options through out the seasons paddling

Females often benefit from the adjustable deck waist tube as the design accommodates the natural curves of the paddler to make a more comfortable fit and matching the performance of a fixed waist deck.

Map-Loops Option

Four D' rings; two on either side of the forward deck, allows you to run an elastic cord through to make your own webbing for securing items closer to yourself during a paddle such as maps, drink bottles or other required kit. Very handy on the Keyhole decks where the deck is larger.

Bale-Hole Option

A dry bag entry to the inner cockpit through a sleeve without removing the Spray Deck, much safer than removing the deck during paddling. Originally used for bailing out water from the kayak with a bilge pump the Bale-Hole is also useful for putting away or retrieving kit while on the water. the Bale-hole rolls up and is fastened to keep the deck water-tight when not in use. The entry has a 38cm circumference allowing even larger hands entry into the cockpit.

Care information

How do I wash and care for my Aquatherm® and Aquatherm Fleece® garments?

For Aquatherm®, Super-stretch Aquatherm® and Aquatherm Fleece®:

  • Turn the garment inside out.
  • Use a short, warm, delicate wash with a maximum temp 40 degrees C° in mild soapy water (not detergent).
  • Rinse thoroughly and air dry.
  • Do not spin.
  • Do not wring.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not dry over hot radiators or near excessive heat.
  • Hang garments from their cuffs and neck to ensure that if there should be any water ingress in the double fabric seals then it can drain easily.

Why is there water in the cuffs/neck seals of my aquatherm garment?

Sometimes the double fabric cuffs, neck & ankle seals make take in small amounts of water during use or when washed. This can be easily remedied when drying the garment by hanging it on the line by its cuffs, neck or ankle seals, thus allowing any water to drain out.

The possible ingress of water into cuffs, neck & ankle seals will not compromise the serviceability of your garment, it is due to taping on the knitted surface on the inside of the garments. The garment itself remains waterproof, keeping you dry and comfortable. We see any small ingress issue as a minor trade-off against the excellent features of a comfortable knitted surface on the inside of Reed garments and non-splitting, non-latex, comfortable double Aquatherm cuffs & seals.

How do I wash and care for my Transpire Fleece® garments?

  • Turn your garment inside out.
  • Short, warm wash, max 40 degrees C° in mild soapy water.
  • Rinse thoroughly.
  • Air dry or spin.
  • Warm iron.
  • Do not bleach.
  • May be dried over radiators but not on excessive heat.
  • Very low heat tumble dry.

Another great bit of kit from Reed Chillcheater

I pitched up at short notice. Chris was fantastically welcoming and we spent twenty minutes or so looking at paddles. I knew what I was looking for and as usual he delivered. I couldn’t be happier.
