“I first met Chris more than 20 years ago when I was working at another kayak company. It was then that I got to know both Chris and the products from Reed Chillcheater, and I was impressed by their simplicity, high functionality, and lightness. When I opened Kajak Freak back in 2009, he was one of the first people I reached out to – and today, Chris's product line is one of the flagship brands in our store.
I've always thought that the simplicity of the products, often in solid black, stands in a delightful contrast to Chris himself, who is such a colorful person, always full of fun and laughter.
We have been selling Chris's products in our store in Denmark for many years. Since we mainly cater to sea kayakers, the high functionality and lightweight design of Reed's products fit perfectly with our customers' needs. We often say in the store that once customers start using Reed Chillcheater, they always come back. It’s quite common for people to bring in their old spray deck, place it on the counter, and ask for a new one – exactly the same. That must be the best endorsement one can get!
